BEFORE YOU BEGIN

You should be aged 18–28, have completed high school or equivalent, speak English at C1 level or above, enjoy working with children and be ready to live respectfully with a Chinese host family.

A match built through conversation.

Applying is not the same as accepting a placement. The process gives you and the host family time to understand one another. Yohoo stays involved throughout screening, interviews, preparation and arrival.

01

Submit your application

Introduce yourself honestly, including your education, experience with children, interests and reasons for choosing China.

02

Complete the review

Yohoo checks eligibility, application materials, references and supporting documents, then holds a formal candidate interview.

03

Meet host families

Review suitable family introductions and join video interviews arranged by Yohoo. Ask about routines, children, expectations and the city.

04

Confirm the placement

Both sides agree on the match, dates, weekly rhythm and key arrangements before the placement is finalised.

05

Prepare for China

Complete the required certificates and documents. Yohoo guides visa preparation, study arrangements, insurance and travel planning.

06

Arrive and settle in

Receive applicable airport or train-station pick-up, arrival training, local-life orientation and support moving into the host family home.

Documents that support a safe placement.

Applicants must provide the requested application materials, references and supporting documents. A valid no criminal record certificate and a valid health examination or medical clearance certificate are required.

Requirements and timing can vary with the landing city and language-school arrangement. Follow the individual checklist provided by Yohoo and do not purchase travel independently until your arrangements have been confirmed.

APPLY

No program fee

Yohoo does not charge candidates an au pair program fee.

MATCH

Mutual choice

You and the host family meet before either side confirms the match.

PREPARE

Personal guidance

Visa preparation guidance reflects your confirmed landing city and study arrangement.

ARRIVE
